BLOC Office Redevelopment - YRA submission lodged on Amended DA
YRA has lodged a submission on the Amended DA for "significant development for demolition of existing building, construction of a new 5 storey mixed-use development and associated communal facilities, basement carparking, tree removal, landscaping and associated works." A copy of the YRA submission is attached. The YRA is interested in your views and encourages residents to also make a submission.

BLOC Submission - Amended Plans Lodged
The proposal was for a mixed use 5 storey development with 14 apartments, offices and cafes. Submissions on the original plans closed on 24 March 2025. The YRA was advised on 18 December 2025 that amended plans have been lodged and that the closing date for submissions is 21 January 2026.

Community views on future use of the site of the former YMCA Auxiliary Hall
The Senior Project Manager, Land Supply, Planning and Sustainable Land Development sought the views of the YRA on the future use of Block 3 Section 53 Yarralumla, the former YMCA Auxiliary Hall site. The YRA sought the views of members and submitted their feedback to the ACT Government.

Yarralumla Does Christmas
Yarralumla Residents Association invites our community - all those who live, play, work, or go to school in Yarralumla - to share a free and fun afternoon celebrating our community and the festive season. Jackos pizza van or byo picnic. Band, dancing, kids activities, and several local businesses have donated vouchers for us to give away on the day.

Do you need a Red Bow for your street tree?
It's nearly Red Bow time of year again. If you need a red bow Read More for options for getting a bow. Yarralumla's tradition of dressing our street trees with red bows during the festive season started in December 2019. The YRA dressed the trees at the entrances to Yarralumla and at the shops and in Novar Street. Our residents did the rest with over 600 of our street trees sporting big red bows in that first year.

Canberra Time Fun Run - Volunteers needed - Sunday 2nd November 2025
YRA needs volunteers to help on the drink stalls for this year's Fun Run. You'll get a close up view of the race and be able to cheer on the runners who are always very appreciative. Providing volunteers for the Fun Run is one of the ways we raise funds to support our community initiatives.

Light Rail Stage 2B to Woden - Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) from the ACT Government
The Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Light Rail Stage 2B has been issued by the ACT Government. This is now on public exhibition and invites submissions from the public. Submissions are due by 5 September 2025.

Road Safety Improvements
After many years of lobbying by YRA the government has scheduled much needed safety improvements for Yarralumla. The projects are jointly funded by the Australian Government under their Roads Safety Program
