The Minimbah Court 1950’s social housing complex at Solander Place, Banks Street, is being redeveloped from 12 units to 30 units. Residents wished to provide input to inform a good outcome prior to the plans being submitted but this was precluded and thus the only avenue available was ACAT. Recent media suggests that residents’ ACAT appeal resulted in a major delay to the project of 2 years. The timeframes detailed in the FACT SHEET show:
- Time from Minimbah Court being vacated by tenants to the redevelopment DA being lodged is 4 years (2020 to 2024).
- Time from ACAT application for review of DA Decision being lodged to ACAT decision in favour of the development proposal is 5 months (28 November 2024 to 3 April 2025).
- Time after ACAT Decision on DA to commencement of works at Minimbah Court site was 12 months (3 April 2025 to 26 March 2026).
